Golang Job: Staff Data Engineer

My client is recruiting for a Staff Data Engineer, based in Berlin.

As a Staff Engineer, you will be responsible for helping to design and develop world-class software as well as share engineering best practices throughout the organization. You will support one or more tribes in the design, development, and maintenance of our software, with particular attention to performance, flexibility and scalability. You will be challenged as a senior technical leader and have an opportunity to work with highly competent colleagues on challenging engineering problems and have a great impact on the organization.

As a Staff Data Engineer you will:

• Take responsibility for end-to-end software design and development processes, across the entire tech organization when needed.
• Cooperate with other senior engineers to promote best practices in software architecture, design, development, delivery and deployment, and operations (DevOps Practices, Pair Programming, TDD, streaming, pub/sub, etc.)
• Lead teams in ensuring we are adopting and using effectively state-of-the-art technologies.
• Be actively involved in large, strategic tech initiatives, such as distributed data mesh, streaming data, microservice architectures, code refactoring best practices, API definition, CI/CD implementation and more.

About you:

• You will have strong engineering and architecture experience, and knowledge in APIs, Microservices, Data, Pub/Sub orchestration, and DevOps.
• Have solid programming and architectural skills in one or more of our core languages: Golang, Kotlin, Python.
• Professional knowledge and experience of commonly used technologies: Golang, Kafka, AWS, Kubernetes, SQL as well as best practices.
• You will have experience in improving the environment in which you are working, for technology, methodology, and team collaboration.
